The buffalo represents the pocket watch case company Gustav Rau in Pforzheim, Germany, registered 13.6.1935. Junghans bought a lot of the gold plated cases from Gustav Rau. The small circle below the buffalo represents the thickness of the gold plating. One circle means 20 micron/10 year guarantee, two circles equals 40 micron/20-year guarantee and three circles equal 50 microns and 25-year guarantee.
