Car clock 1913, updated 31.03.2026
Timepieces > J - R > Kienzle
This is a Kienzle Car Clock, also called Automobile Clock or Motorclock. I finally got information from the Deutsche Uhrenmuseum in Furtwangen who could provide a proof in form of an catalog entry in the "Alarm clock catalog No. 203" from 1913, page 44.
The clock was availabe in gold or nickel color.
Movement diameter 67 mm
Pin Pallet escapement
Balance staff with conical pivots
8 day movement with center second
Total diameter 106 mm
Diameter of clock 76 mm
Further research about the movement is ongoing. If you can provide more details, please let me know. Additionally, the search for a new set of hands continues.
The clock has a central second hand which is missing. Below a picture of a clock which still had the hand. I'm trying to find such a hand, length from the centre is 26 mm, the axle diameter is 0.65 mm.
2026 – The clock is finally on the bench for an overhaul. There is little that can be done with the dial. The winding wheel had to be remade, as the original was too worn.
